John and Dorothy Stocksdale visited Yellowstone National Park on vacation and immediately fell in love with Southwest Montana. In 1969, John and Dorothy moved to Bozeman from Indiana and purchased D&R Music and Gaming. The Stockdales evolved the company’s offerings to include the first Montana-owned coffee service to fulfill local business coffee needs. In the coming years, they would expand their service area throughout the Gallatin Valley and surrounding areas.
Scott LeProwse was hired after graduating from Montana State University in 1982. A year later, Scott married John and Dorothy’s daughter, Teresa Stocksdale.
In 2001, Scott and Teresa purchased D&R Coffee Service from the Stocksdales and added another Montana State University graduate to the team. Bret Forder is the current General Manager and oversees all aspects of the business. It was that same year that D&R sold the vending side of the business and has focused solely on coffee ever since.
Throughout the years, D&R’s family–owned business has changed from music and gaming to vending and finally, providing sensational coffee service for the great state of Montana for over 40 years. No matter the type of business they have been in, their foundational values have never changed. D&R’s passion in business is to build relationships with their customers and help them succeed.
